Race weekend is upon us! In case you didn't know, Team lbs. (Uncle Buddha, #mcn3ill, Fat Chad) has been training for the past several months in preparation for Sunday's 3rd annual Ochsner Ironman 70.3 in New Orleans. Unfortunately, Uncle Buddha isn't going to be able to join us on the race course because apparently he has a business to run, blah, blah, blah...but he'll be out there cheering with donuts and coffee in hand.
Over the past few months we have logged over 17 hrs of swimming in the pool and in Lake Ponchartrain, biked over 640 miles along the Mississippi River and ran ~155 miles throughout New Orleans. This comes to about 100 hours of training. This includes 5:30 a.m. swims, 3 hour Saturday morning bike rides, track/speed work at night dodging the children's track team, weight training, core work, cold dip, hot tub, sun burns, gallons of chocolate milk...repeat. During all of this, Patrick has lost about 40 lbs. and is still going strong!
This isn't me bragging about how much we have done. This is me refocusing on my goal and purpose. While cliche, this has been, and always will be, about the process and not the end result. Don't get me wrong. Race day is exhilarating and electric, with the atmosphere being like none other. However, we didn't just wake up and decide to race: we planted the seeds 6 months ago, carefully tended the crop and now we get to reap what we have sown with Sunday being Harvest Day.
As always, thanks to everyone for your support and well wishes.

Looks like we might catch a break with the weather. I have a feeling the course record is in jeopardy of being broken. The course
